Dougie started cutting his teeth on one of the toughest jobs in the business. The audience warm up for STV Children’s Programs and believe me it wasn’t easy to get the crowd going. That was it, Dougie was hooked on the entertainment buzz and wanted to progress his career further.

He was also luck enough to do interviews with the likes of Deacon Blue, Simple Minds and the infamous Ozzy Osbourne

Dougie spent 8 years working for BBC Scotland on various productions, and productions would play a part in his next venture. He spent time presenting the The Music Week show at Clyde FM and then Classic Hit Jukebox among others.

At Demus Productions for over 12 years involved in co producing popular shows in Scotland. Worked primarily for BBC Radio Scotland with additional commissions from BBC Radio 1 and Radio 2. 


Some of my production credits include The Janice Forsyth Show, two semi-dramatised documentaries; Scotland’s Choice Cuts, John Beattie in the Afternoon and James & John, two summer music strands for Radio Scotland. 
Co-productions included features such as the Glasgow Empire Exhibition, Jimmy Logan Tribute and the Travis Story. I recorded, edited and produced live studio music sessions including artists such as Amy Winehouse, Elbow and The Proclaimers.

The Original Its Christmas Day By Dougie Campbell

This is a guest post from Dougie who wrote the song, "It's Christmas Day". I've often heard it said that Christmas just wouldn't be Christmas without Christmas songs. Well, that's certainly the case for me. I'm Dougie Campbell and when I was at school I wrote a Christmas song. There was a competition in a local newspaper so I thought I'd have a go. I'd never written a song before, let aIone a Christmas one but I posted my entry off and waited. Sadly I didn't hear anything more about it so I assumed it didn't win!  I was, however, pleased with the way the song sounded and asked my local primary school in Balfron, Scotland if they would be interested in singing it. They said 'yes' and they sounded great!  The next thing I knew a local record company got wind of it and decided to release it as a single.
